Crafted from the mighty Mountain Ash (Tasmanian Oak), this beautiful set of four log stools range in height from 300mm to 450mm. Sourced on a private property in the Victorian highlands, their demise was natural. These majestic, native, trees had been standing dead for nearly ten years—a perfectly natural drying process—and were felled by Dion before going to ground to rot. They finished curing slowly in the studio for three years, and were then cut to size, sculpted and shaped, before being digitally CNC routed in 3D.
They are sanded perfectly smooth and finished with a clear matt protective coat. They look exactly as they did on the mountain, with colours ranging from a multitude of grey shades, through to a pastel rainbow and pink. Some still bear the scars of local wild Samba deer rubbing his antlers against the trees.
