Crafted from Western Red Cedar, acrylic and brass, this dreamboat bath is affectionately called a ‘Claw Foot Clinker’ due to its construction. Clinker-built ships were a trademark of Nordic navigation throughout the Middle Ages. The cedar is steamed and bent to wrap the bath—a process known as ‘lapstrake’. , a method of boat building where the edges of hull planks overlap, called a ‘land’ or ‘landing’.
Sanded smooth and finished with exterior, marine-grade, water-based, clear coat, that incorporates UV absorbers, this beautiful piece is water and steam proof . The traditional claw feet are cast in brass.
